About

Hello

“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies-“God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.”

Kurt Vonnegut

My name is Michelle and welcome to my blog! I’m a 30 year old technology operations consultant who likes to read and draw things in her free time.

I  graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology in 2015 and a Master in Public Health (MPH), where my concentration was Epidemiology, in 2017.

Below is a list of some of my favorite things:

Authors: Maya Angelou, Sylvia Plath, Langston Hughes, Toni Morrison, Kurt Vonnegut, and Octavia Butler.

Own Voices: I am Black, Filipina, and queer.

Music: literally everything. My favorite musician will always be Stevie Wonder. Go to artists are Andrew McMahon, Beyonce, Adele, and The Beatles. Lately, it’s been a lot of pop punk — The Home Team, Honey Revenge, and Scene Queen. My first love will always be Motown.

Shows: Shondaland shows, Twin Peaks, Black Mirror, Veronica Mars, and Gossip Girl (my guilty pleasure). Currently watching Glee, The Blacklist, Six Feet Under, and Nashville.

Ultimately, I’m just a girl learning about life and continually left in awe by the multiple connections I see in it. I am constantly reading to learn and grow from what I read. Although, like many readers, I read to escape.

I hope you connect with me.

  1. Interesting blog you have here, Michelle! Of course, you had me at Vonnegut. May be a fatal combo with Plath, so I’m glad you have Maya Angelou to balance things out 🙂

    1. Haha, I tend to be a cynic, but their writings definitely speak to me! I assure you that my readings vary much more haha 😉 Thanks for checking out my blog!

  2. Great page Michelle! You said some interesting things, but The Office stuck out to me. LOL I love Michael Scott more than I should. Can’t help it. I think we just connected 🙂
